When many people hear the word "detox" scary images of toxic withdrawal, deprivation, going hungry, pain and suffering come to mind.
After participating in my own 7 Day Whole Foods Detox program a couple of times now, I have a very different picture in my mind when I think of a detox or "cleanse". I think of feeling light, clear headed, energetic, slimmer and optimisitc.
After a week of clean eating and hydrating my body, I feel stronger and like I can take on the world. I remind myself a little of Tigger, from Winnie the Pooh, who liked to bounce. I detox so I can feel bouncy again.
There are many reasons to allow the internal body to rest, reset and recharge a few times a year and it doesn't have to be painful or difficult at all.
