How can health coaching help me?
When was the last time you talked with someone about your health and received true personal attention on the issues most important to you? Perhaps you’ve been wondering if there was a trained professional to turn to that could provide a supportive environment, help sort out the confusion around health and nutrition and help you to achieve your health goals.
Many people know that they have an unhealthy, love/hate relationship with food. They know that they “should” eat better and exert more “control” over their diet and lifestyle. But often we feel trapped in a frustrating spiral of indulgence, denial, guilt and frustration.
It may seem that it all comes down to willpower. But in reality, willpower is only one component needed on the path to vibrant health. What if the willpower that you depend on is actually being undermined by the very foods you eat and certain daily habits which you may not even be aware of?
A health coach can help you better understand the complexities of today's diet and lifestyle choices and how to optimize your results in the most efficient manner, the same way a personal trainer optimizes your fitness routine.
To decide if health coaching is right for you, I invite you to schedule a free initial consultation with me. During this session, we will discuss your health and lifestyle to determine how I can best support you in achieving your goals.

My interest in nutrition began as a young woman interested in staying fit and raising a young family.
In my very early years I was raised on a farm where my family grew much of our own food, including eggs, meat and dairy. As a child, an appreciation for fresh, vibrant fruits and vegetables and a love of gardening was instilled in me. But that changed radically in my teen years during the convenience/packaged/processed/fast food era of the 1970’s. If it came in a colorful package, we loved it and grocery store produce held little appeal.
When I became an esthetician and began my career in the spa world, I began to understand the strong link between the overall health of the body, the immune system and the health and beauty of the skin. Educating my clients about the value of antioxidants and essential fatty acids in the diet, avoiding a build-up of toxins and staying hydrated became as much a part of my practice as recommending the proper skin care products.
I became an avid reader of books and publications on everything related to natural health and wellness. I began attending classes and workshops to learn more about the link between health and beauty. My research led me to understand that to answer my clients' questions about their skin concerns, we had to respect the deep connection between healthy, vibrant skin and a well rounded, nutritious diet.
When working with concerns such as acne, eczema, psoriasis and rosacea I would often refer to my books on natural medicine and herbal healing. In this way I became a holistic skin care practitioner and was able to achieve much greater results for my clientele. I could advise them on the best natural herbs and products for topical use as well as the best foods and supplements to keep their skin healthy and youthful.
During my years as a traveling educator and esthetics trainer in the spa industry I became even more interested in how changes in the diet could enhance longevity and quality of life. I wanted to have even more answers for my clientele, my family, and I wanted to solve my own health concerns as well.
Like many of my peers I was particularly interested in having sufficient energy for the demands of being a career person while raising a family.
I became profoundly inspired by the detox and wellness programs at the world-class spas I was working with.
My passion for wellness grew deeper as I saw for myself how manipulating my diet and lifestyle could have major advantages in how I felt as I moved through my day. I found that it felt pretty good to feel good, and I also found that I was eager to share the good news.
So, in addition to my independent education, I studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and lifestyle management techniques with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts.
My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.
My experience and education have equipped me with extensive knowledge in nutrition, holistic wellness and preventive health.
Drawing on this knowledge and my skill for integrating healthful practices into busy, modern life, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
